PORTOFOLIO
My name is Tijn Woppenkamp, and I am 20 years old. My passion for film music began at a young age when I started my first drum lessons with a marching band. It was in that world that I continued to develop as a musician.
While studying Audiovisual Media, I discovered the power of composition. Between editing and filming, I immersed myself in writing music and translating and enhancing the visuals of my own projects through composition.
In addition to writing music for film and theater, I am also active as an arranger in the marching band world.

CABINET OF CURIOSITIES
In this project I wanted to focus mainly on the orchestration. After I came up with a fitting melody and theme on piano, I devided the parts around differend sections of the orchestra. To get a more spiritual/holy sound I added a church organ.
With the mix I tried to stay close to realism, no extra effects or tricks that where not necesarry. It had to sound like a natural recording. I mainly used the East West library and kontakt 8. Al instrument tracks go trough a reverb bus so it sounds like they stand in the same room.
WIND QUINTET
This piece started as a challange. After searching for the right form, I came up with a piece of programmatic music. The piece is based on the picture included in the score. The story explore the question of: "What will happen when humans disappear?".
For this mix I worked with the East West libraries. The plugin Virtual sound stage is used on every instrument track to create a lively environment. I used the cc 1, cc 2 and cc 11 for a natural playing sound.

DRAG ME TO HELL
Creating an organised chaos was the main goal for this score. I drew a lot of inspiration from the peace "l'apprenti sorcier" from Paul Dukas.
The #4 interval is repeated throughout the whole score, because of its charp and dissonant sound. This combined with the shriking sound of the woodwinds in high register, fits the theme of a haunted house very well. Both the sounddesign and score where done by me.
SOLO VIOLIN
After coming up with the title (Lost in silence) the musical structure became clearer, since I could follow the story behind the title. The story behind the title is about trying to send a message nobody wants to hear; important but ignored messages that get lost in the silence.
This piece is recorded at "Edgetip recording studio", and played by Daphne Oltheten. I mixed the recording afterwards. In this mix I chose for a big reverb to get a more lonely feeling to the instrument.
FORREST AMBIENCE
The musical group Trappaf from Oisterwijk was looking for a musical theme for their production of *Merlin the Wizard*. I chose to compose a large-scale orchestral piece that builds in intensity as it progresses, just like the musical’s story does. The use of the harp is of great importance, as it gives a magical sound to the entire piece.
